![]() ![]() ![]() I know RDNA 3 can spit this game out much better and the new generation AMD graphics cards can do this title without being right at the edge of the thermal envelope.īut as a gamer since the seventies and a PC system builder and overclocker since the nineties- this game is the nicest ‘tech demo’ I have ever had the fortune to play. If I frame cap and tailor my fan curves I keep my card from crashing in this game. RDNA 2 can brute force this game (no FSR ‘upscaling’), but sustaining 1440 with everything Ultra (and Raytracing Ultra etc) is very taxing. Using FSR 1 mode and RT Shadows off I now play at 1600+ Resolution woth everything else set to Ultra.īest use of HDR (panasonic OLED) I have seen in gaming (Returnal and Demon Souls were ‘great/good’, but Hogwarts- with spell effects and a masterful understanding of ligth by the art department has Lumos correctly light bugger all and incredibly well depending on darkness the player is experiencing… (depth of picture and immersion being 10/10) (still a few spots where my framerate drops by 1/3rd super briefly, but these are spots where some tweaking is needed to game and I can count them all on one hand over a lot of gaming time (so far-30+ hours in the last week or so)įSR 2 adds a lag/latency hat FSR1 mode does not. Turning RT shadows off removed all graphical ‘immersion breaks’ I was experiencing, and removed basically all frame drop from the most difficult to render locations. I now lock my GPU fan to 2/5ths speed (~1600rpm) and I have a totally quiet PC that runs game flawlessly for many hours at a time. (beat this by running overlays and keeping task manager open whilst ‘shader pre-caching’ happened and I could get into Settings and turn on my frame rate lock again. I have seen a few other titles let me hit 110 degrees junction temp (all Raytracing titles eg Portal RTX and Witcher 3 revisited) and I have booked my card to get ‘serviced’ (fan repaste hopefully will help?!?), but simply locking my framerate and keeping an eye on temperatures (a fan curve that keeps me from going above 112 degrees celcius at junction temp).and voila- everything is fine.Īccidently left framerate uncapped – couldnt get game started without crashing. Last week I swapped two fans directions around (an inlet became an outlet and vice versa) this dropped GPU temp by 5 degrees celcius.Ĭombined with lowering power into my GPU (and playing with fan curves) I could now game happily. Now- I did have to tune my graphics card DOWN in performance otherwise the junction temperature (worst temp spot based on ‘multiple points’ is my understanding) would exceed 110 degrees and either the PC would shut down or game would drop to desktop (depending how quick that twmp raised).īelieving the game broken I stopped playing for quite awhile. Obvious PC Ultra settings havent been ‘widely’ tested most opting to run without raytracing… Now I do believe this game needs some serious polish especially on PC side of coin. I mostly stopped playing after I saw patches make game graphics massively worse (whingers ALWAYS net graphics gimping ala squeaky wheel gets the grease).(kingdom come deliverance is another perfect example of top tier graphics being downgraded ’cause users say “every other game runs fine on ultra settings(but not YOURS)!”. I play the game with everything set to ultra, and for the first few months simply bruteforced the graphics (no FSR 1/2 turned on). ![]() I use AMD graphics card and it is a known thing that the raytracing smashes AMD GPUs poorly in this title… (yes, worse than most! and not typical framerate variation vs nvidia counterparts etc.) I’d second this info (to a certain extent). Its games also run in a fixed resolution of 640×480, which suits its pixel-art look well, but can appear fuzzy and stretched on modern displays. What are the drawbacks? As an elderly piece of software, RPG Maker 2000 doesn’t play nice with very high resolution displays the interface is nigh-unusable if you’re running in 4K - 1080p is fine, though. There are addons and plugins available, but for the most part you’re best off sticking with it as “stock” and seeing what it can do you’d be surprised how much you can achieve with it, particularly if you take the time to add some custom graphics, sounds and music. If you’re new to making RPGs, RPG Maker 2000 is a good place to get started as it won’t overwhelm you with features. RPG Maker 2000 is easy to use but very flexible, allowing you to put together solid RPGs without needing to know anything about programming - the most you need to get your head around is the game’s “Event” system, which is mostly about thinking things through in a logical order, and the “Database”, which stores pretty much everything about your game - character stats and graphics, enemy troops, battle effects, text strings, items, skills and more, all of which can be fully customised or used right away in their default formats. Why use RPG Maker 2000? Simply put: simplicity. RPG Maker 2000 eventually got an official English release via Degica Games in 2015, after RPG Maker XP’s localisation was so well received. ![]() He complied, but it was already too late the program had exploded in popularity, and downloads of it had proliferated all over the Internet - complete with Don Miguel’s custom package of sprites and graphics that added to the standard RPG Maker 2000 “run-time package” with images ripped from commercial software. It took a while for RPG Maker’s original publisher ASCII to discover that Don Miguel was distributing RPG Maker 2000 illegally, but when they did, they immediately threatened legal action and demanded he take down his download links. If you’ve ever come across people referencing things like “YOU WON A COMBAT” and “Safe Tea Boots”, you’ve encountered Donglish. RPG Maker 2000 (often referred to online as RM2k) was initially only intended to be distributed in Japan, you see, but Don Miguel recognised that there was interest in the series in English-speaking territories, so he translated it into English… or at the very least a close approximation thereof, which has come to be known by the community as “Donglish”. ![]() The familiar.mp3 file format makes this pack the perfect playlist for you to listen to while developing your game. For many people - particularly in Europe, where the PlayStation version of RPG Maker never got a release - this was their first experience with the franchise, thanks to the efforts of a Russian fan translator who went by the name Don Miguel. Intel CPUs aren't as sensitive to RAM speeds as Ryzen CPUs, but excessively slow RAM (like yours, 2133 MHz) can slow down your CPUs ability to access game resources from the RAM before it sends them to the GPU.Your 16 GB of RAM, is it 1 x 16 GB or 2 x 8 GB? Because if its only one stick, you're losing a lot of performance by not running dual-channel RAM. ![]() I just played watch dogs 2 yesterday with my i7-9700k and a RTX 2080 (which has similar graphical processing power to your 3060 Ti) and didn't experience any stutters at all, so it seems to me that you have something not quite right going on with your hardware that you might not be aware of. Most commonly this is due to slow RAM or a slow CPU, but it can also be game engine related. Low GPU utilization (when you have an uncapped framerate or a high frame rate limit) is due to something in the rendering pipeline not allowing the GPU to operate at capacity. Thank you so much in advance ! I'll be very grateful for any tip. Does anyone have a clue on what could be the source of the matter ? Is it PSU stuff, a voltage issue maybe ? Is it a bug with Windows 10 and the new RTX cards, which would require a complete reinstall of the OS, as someone suggested to me (saying it had fixed their performance issue with Watch Dogs 2) ? I apologize for the lenghty post, I thought I should try to be as precise as possible. And yes, I have installed the latest Nvidia GPU drivers. I play with both G-sync and v-sync on, per official recommendations. The rest of my specs : i7 8700, 16gb ram 2133mhz, Fortron ATX 700W 80+ bronze, a SSD Intel NVMe for the games and another SSD in Sata for Windows. This is imo not a CPU bottleneck because the CPU is never used at 100%, and Deus Ex isn't a CPU intensive game anyway, yet the issue is similar. On my last test without FPS cap, on ultra, the framerate briefly dropped below 60 fps while I was running towards a wall, which matched with the GPU usage suddenly dipping at 40%. Tested on both high and absolute ultra settings, same stuff. Deus Ex Mankind Divided : while this graphically outdated game ran overall much smoother than WD, the GPU usage fluctuated wildly between 40% and 70% the framerate was not consistent either, it varied between 110 and 70, causing some stutters - yet all I did was running around the city hub, which is a very static map with no explosions, fire or anything like that.Uncapped, the framerate never dives below 60 fps, but if I cap it at 60 fps, then it will drop below that limit and the stuttering stays the same. The GPU usage tops at 70-80% (roughly), but it's not constant, it often drops below that. Watch Dogs 2 : stutters like crazy when moving across the map on less than max settings, due to big framerate shifts (between 120 and 60 fps).So far using RivaTuner Statistics I've tested two triple-A games from my Steam library, both installed on a brand new NVMe SSD, and found similar results : The card is clearly not overheating - it's a Gigabyte custom with an improved refrigeration system, it sits in a properly-cooled ICUE gaming tower and according to the task manager its temperature during gaming sessions hover around 50° celsius. Maybe you could suggest me tips on how to solve this problem ? It should be 100% no matter what right ? It is not. At 1080p with my 144hz g-sync compatible monitor everything should run buttersmooth, yet it does not I think I've found the "culprit", which is low and inconsistent GPU usage. Hello people, I recently had my PC boosted with a new RTX 3060 ti and I feel like it's underperforming in games. ![]() ![]() You can't hide the NPCs on the initiative tracker if they are on the token level. We use Skype, I would switch to Discord, but I like being able to have video windows to see the players and the chat log open at the same time which Discord won't let us do as far as I know, seriously if you know how to do this please tell me because other than this one thing Discord is better in literally every other way! R20's video/audio system is trash, don't bother with it. I have worked out some workarounds that do the job, but it is still a pain in the ass. so, if you want to make a metahuman/critter, they're fine, the moment you need to make something different like a drone, vehicle, spirit, sprite or IC/Host/Agent, they don't really work very well. The 4E character sheet for R20 is missing some bits. I have found that architect's drawings are easy to find and really good though. Maps for cyberpunk are hard to find, but that is just cause we're not playing a fantasy setting like D&D so that's not R20's fault. If like me you like to GM with maps the dynamic lighting never works as advertised and just crashes the game, we've given up on it and i just do it manually. previously we used a fill-able PDF and had to email them back and forth as changes were made which was always a pain, Google Docs would allow the same thing, but we found the R20 sheets are better than a fill-able PDF as the space on them is effectively infinite. ![]() So when I want to check something on a player's sheet while I'm planning i can just dip into it and check without too much fuss and players can't forget them. We play online, partly Covid, partly we live in different towns. One thing that is also very useful for me as a GM is that I have made all the grunts and contacts from the core books and contacts and adventures into NPC sheets on there, (I'm lucky and have been able to do it while simultaneously working), this means that i can quickly pull any of them out at a moments notice and with a little adaptation on the fly (add a picture and a bit of description, maybe change a skill or two) I have an NPC ready to go who can be saved for later use and I have them in an easy to access list without flicking through books to find them and their dice pools are already set up for me so there's no flicking through books it's just there at my finger tips.Īll the character sheets are in a central place. It has also made tracking initiative much easier as well, though we have had to make a small adaptation to make initiative passes work better. One of the major advantages for us is that it has helped a couple of our players who struggle with how maths heavy Shadowrun can be at times is since they just click a button add a modifier and that's it. it has a few issues (like making drones IC, spirits and Sprite NPC's where I have had to create work arounds) but for the most part it works very well. Unicode and Beyond: While ASCII art is traditionally associated with the ASCII character set, modern ASCII art often incorporates characters from the Unicode standard, allowing for more intricate and diverse creations. While ASCII art is often shared freely, it can still be subject to copyright protections if the creator wishes to enforce them. Legal Disputes: Some ASCII art creators have faced legal disputes over the copyright of their work. It’s used for retro aesthetics, creative social media posts, and even in code comments to add personality. ASCII art was used in early demos and intros due to its compact size and ease of creation.ĪSCII Art Today: Despite advances in graphics technology, ASCII art remains a beloved form of expression. People would personalize their email signatures with small, often humorous, ASCII art creations, adding a touch of creativity to their messages.ĪSCII Art in Demoscene: The demoscene is a subculture focused on creating real-time audio-visual presentations on computers. This approach is very easy and fast to code/process. If you use larger areas instead of pixels then the zoom is smaller, but of course the output is less visually pleasing. As you can see, the output is larger pixel -> character. This early version included control characters for tasks like line feed and carriage return.Įxtended ASCII: As computing evolved, extended ASCII character sets were developed, allowing for additional characters beyond the original 128. Seven-Bit Code: ASCII originally used a seven-bit binary code to represent characters, allowing for a total of 128 different characters. Naturally, a 500-character wide image is enormous, likely far exceeding the size of the original image. It originated from telegraph codes and was used to standardize character encoding for early teletypes and computers. Text-Image allows you to choose the width of the picture in characters with a choice between 1 and 500 characters. Origins in Teletypes: ASCII, which stands for “American Standard Code for Information Interchange,” was first developed in the early 1960s.
